The Third Annual Western States GSR Rally will be held July 10 through July 14, 2008 in the breathtaking Yosemite Valley region of California and the Washoe Valley region of Nevada

Here's the tentative plan:

July 10th and 11th (Thursday and Friday) camping in beautiful Yosemite Valley, California... one of the most spectacular places on earth! Plenty of routes to ride and lots of scenery to take in. Last year the trip on "the little dragon" and the road to Glacier Point were awesome! Pack up Saturday morning and take a twisty route back to my place in Washoe Valley, Nevada. The official party will be Saturday night (the chuck wagon steaks are on me), and then riding the local routes on Sunday, which will include Virginia City, Lake Tahoe, and the surrounding area. Gobs of great riding and great mountain scenery everywhere! Pack it up and head out on Monday.

Tom (Tom MLC) and I though the split venue worked out well last year, and might help more people make it up. If someone from say southern California wants to come, but not all the way to Nevada, they can do the Yosemite gig and then head back on Saturday. Or if someone doesn't want to make the trip to Yosemite they can meet up with us in Nevada on Saturday. Yosemite to my house is approx. 125 miles.

I will be going down to Yosemite early with my camper to get a site and act as the supply wagon (my wife Beth will drive the camper). I'll bring beer, soda, water, and planned meals for the campsites. Anyone wanting to forward their gear can do so.

What worked out well last year was we all chipped in on the costs for the campsites, food, and drink, and I bought it all and brought it down in the chuckwagon. MUCH cheaper than eating out all the time. We bought a keg for my place, we had the BBQ Saturday, and ate take-n-bake pizza on Sunday. I think everyone from last year will agree that it we were well fed and hydrated! It was only about 80 bucks per person, if you made both events, plus a few meals on the road. Well worth it!

So... Who's coming??? We hope a lot more riders can make it this year! We had a blast last time around, and this year should be even better, especially if we can get more folks together! Come on up and have some fun!

Your Hosts,
